H Crabtree is a privately owned haulage firm delivering goods across the UK. Based in New Mills, on the edge of the Peak District, Derbyshire, the firm operates a fully integrated national network of warehousing, distribution and transport services by road.
Incorporated in 1961, the company began life before World War II and currently employs around 50 drivers and 30 office staff.
Active manages all mobile phone, landline and Internet connections for the company and have a relationship with the hauliers stretching back over 20 years.

Bill Hall, managing director, said the firm had been with Active since the 1990’s and had never moved to a competitor because they had always been ‘happy’ with their service.
‘We’ve been with them a long time because we’ve always been really happy.’
‘We’ve been with them a long time,’ he said. ‘They have always handled our mobile phones and landlines and also introduced us to vehicle tracking some years back.
‘They currently supply all our drivers’ mobile phones, around 10 office-based mobiles and all our fixed land lines, Internet etc.’

H.Crabtree say they have stuck with Active for two decades because of their competitive pricing, but more importantly the great customer service they receive.
‘We’ve benchmarked them against others and nobody has ever come close,’ Mr Hall said.
‘I know they save us money over the long term, although it would be difficult to put an exact figure on it.
‘But it’s not all about cost, it’s about service as well. I know if we have a problem it will be dealt with and we can get a response straight away.
‘It also helps that they are located only eight miles away. I know I can ring up and speak to a real person – not someone in a call centre that has no idea about our business.
‘They will give me an answer straight away and if, for example, I have a problem with a mobile phone that they can’t sort it immediately, I know they will send me a substitute.’
